Baby Shower for Baby Ford!

I am so excited to share with you photos from my baby shower! 

I waited to post them since we weren't announcing his name yet.

It was seriously one of the cutest showers I have ever been to - I couldn't believe it was all for me and baby Ford!

My sister in laws, mom and friends threw the shower and everything came together perfectly.

I felt so loved and got spoiled rotten by those I love.

It was the perfect night.

We welcomed our sweet baby Ford into the world on Monday afternoon.

I feel so overwhelmed with love for our baby boy, and family of four.

We all can't get enough of him.

Our Christmas Cards :: Whimsy Place

I blogged about Whimsy Place here, and wanted to share what the generous girls of 

Whimsy Place created for our family Christmas cards.  

I am so glad that we were able to get a card out this year thanks to Whimsy Place.

I just let her know the basic idea of what I wanted - the wording and the lotus wreath with a D, our family photo, and they sent me this darling card.

I was so pleased with how easy they were to work with and highly recommend Whimsy Place cards!

Chocolate Crackle Cookies

I am sad to not be doing neighbor gifts (sweet treats packaged up nice) this year.

This month we are simplifying with all that is coming up.

But, I was craving some of my favorite Christmas cookies, and some of our friends in the neighborhood did luck out since I made a double batch!

I want to make another batch today - I like them that much!

I recommend you make yourself, or Santa some of these cooks this holiday season!

Chocolate Crackle Cookies

(or as we now call them, snowman cookies)

recipe adapted from Martha Stewart

1 bag chocolate chips, half semi sweet, half milk chocolate

1 1/4 c flour**

1/2 c cocoa powder

2 t. baking powder

1/4 t. salt

8 T (1 stick) butter, at room temperature

1 1/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed

2 large eggs

1 t. vanilla extract

1/3 c milk

1 c. granulated sugar, for rolling

1 c. powdered sugar, for rolling
(I coat them in a lot of powdered sugar, they turn out prettier that way)

** I added a little more flour since it is pretty runny - but remember you are chilling the dough so it can be a bit runny**

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt chocolate chips over medium low heat, careful to not burn. Let cool. In a separate bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. In your mixer beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until well combined. Add melted chocolate to dough, combine. Alternate adding milk and dry ingredients until just combined.

Divide dough and wrap in plastic. Chill in refrigerator until firm, about 2 hours. Remove dough, roll into 1 inch balls and dust in bowl of granulated sugar, and then powdered sugar. Place on silpat-lined cookie sheet. Bake about 12 minutes until cookies have flattened and sugar cracks.

Maternity Family Shoot with Candice Brooke Photography

for our family photos.

I wanted these photos to not be "maternity" but just photos of us that I happen to have a big pregnant body in.

Candice captured that perfectly. 

I was hesitant to take them and am so glad we did.

We now have this time forever documented thanks to Candice!
I highly recommend her!

Baby To Presley Gift

We have heard of the idea to have a gift from your newborn to your other child the first time they meet.

I liked the idea, but wasn't sure what I would have the baby give to Presley.

When I saw this darling wood camera from TwigCreative on Pinterest, I thought it would be the perfect gift!

I am excited for Presley to use her camera to "document" her new friendship with her baby brother.

I hope she likes it!

The Next Two Weeks

It is a rainy and cozy morning for us here.

And I'm loving being bundled up inside with my girl, playing the matching game, and eating breakfast.

There is so much goodness going on in the next two weeks, I can hardly sleep at night!

My birthday, our Baby's arrival(!!!), and Christmas.  

Luckily we are having a very simple Christmas this year and everything is done and wrapped so I can just enjoy these last moments with my girl, just the three of us.

We all couldn't be more excited about the expected arrival any day now.

Life is full. 

I am still going to try and post through out the week, but no promises!

I keep seeing the above quote, and it could not be more true.

My home is where ever I'm with Dan, Presley, and Baby.
