Holiday Decorating and An Old DIY: Felt Wreath

Our little family has started the tradition of decorating our house for Christmas every year on Black Friday.

So even though I've never been out shopping on Black Friday, we do get up, turn on the Christmas music and unload the Christmas boxes.

I love it and am dying to get my decorations out every year.

I thought I would re post some of previous year's crafts for you all.

I also try and make something new each year for our home's decor.  

Here is a little tutorial on how to make this felt wreath.  Any color combo will do, but I do love the white, cream, and grey.

Last week a couple of friends and I got together for a craft night.

Obviously I am obsessed with crafting and felt this holiday season - I can't get enough.

These wreaths were super easy and props to Ashly for figuring out how to make them!

What you'll need:

Styrofoam wreath (or any wreath base)

Felt, one color or multiple

Hot glue gun

Any embellishments

Cut your felt into a square

These do not need to be perfect, I liked that mine were all different sizes.

Fold in half and cut a half circle

Cut slits into half circle getting pretty close to the center.

Once again, I made 4-5 slits, it can differ

I used white, creme, and grey

After cutting all of my circles, I used a pencil to glue the felt to the wreath.

First, wrap the felt around the eraser end, and generously dot with glue gun.

Then push the felt into the styrofoam and hold to let dry.

I wanted to put glittered birds and what nots in mine, but didn't find what I was looking for,

so I made a Happy Holidays sign and placed that in the middle.

Feeling Grateful

We had such a lovely holiday weekend spent with family and friends.

Nothing beats the holiday season being surrounded by those you love.

I am grateful for so many things.  These are a few that really stood out over Thanksgiving weekend.

My girl Presley.  Sweet, snuggly, funny, and full of personality.

This baby boy coming any day who we already love so much.

My sweetheart.  He is supportive, loving, and always makes me laugh.

Family.  Near and far, we are so fortunate for those in our life.

Friends.  I have the best friends, feeling very blessed.

Yummy flavors.

Creating things with my hands, making magic out of scraps.

A mother I can call at any time for advice or just to chat.

A father who loves me, and inspires me.

Our house we've made a home.  Beautiful, peaceful, full of laughter, and on a good day clean.

Seasons.  As little as we get here, I love the colder weather at this time of year and the spirit of the holidays it brings.

Opportunity.

On A Baby High

 I am on a total baby high!

Last night was my darling shower that my family and friends put on for me and Baby.  I was so overwhelmed with feeling the love!  Many of my dearest gathered to celebrate something I am so excited about, it doesn't get better than that.  I seriously feel so lucky to be surrounded by so many incredible people.  I thought I'd give you all a little sneak peek of some shots of my shower with my iphone.  Every detail was perfection!  Please notice even the pattern of the paper goods matching Baby's crib bedding.  I love it!

I will have more and better photos to share next week from my friend and photog.

I got back late from the shower and Dan and I sat in the nursery going through all the perfect gifts daydreaming of our baby boy.  It is making everything so real and I seriously can not wait until this baby is in his cozy new clothes and in my arms.

Wallpaper is going up in my client's house this week and I couldn't be more excited! 

I am literally dying to stop in when it is all finished.  

The room is going to be so dreamy!

I love me some Designer's Guild paper.  Their patterns are the perfect mix of vintage and modern lines.

Here is a before pic, and with all the furniture deliveries, etc. it might be a while until there is the reveal,
