Water For Elephants

The husband is on quarter break and we decided to take the week off and spend time relaxing and enjoying our little family of three.  This means I have actually been able to read, I'm a total bookworm who hasn't had time to read as of late.  I didn't realize how badly I missed it until I read Water For Elephants in three days!  I really enjoyed it and now can't wait for the movie!

I recently read The Help and loved it so much I was sad to have it end.  I missed all the characters!

I now have the weekend left to start another book and need recommendations!  Are there any books that you loved? Please share!

Water for Elephants was great! My recent favorite book was the Time Travelers Wife. You must read that if you haven't already!! I'm reading another popular choice now, Eat Pray Love, and so far it is great.

"The Help" was great, I agree. Alos, Im 3/4 of the way through "Saving CeeCee Honeycutt" which is a pretty fun and breezy read. My next after that is "The Happiness Project". Have a relaxing week...

I have had both The Help and Water for Elephants on my radar to read for some time! I keep waiting for The Help to come out in paperback.

I recommend Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society if you haven't read it, it is such a charming book!

Loved Water for Elephants!

The Hunger Games trillogy is also really good. It's meant for teens but it's a super easy read and has a great story line. It will be the next Twilight.

Loved Water for Elephants - the previews I've seen so far for the movie look great!
Memoirs of a Geisha is a good read. I also liked The Memory Keeper's Daughter.
I also enjoyed The Hunger Games trilogy - saw another commenter mentioned it and I agree - technically its a young adult series, but also really enjoyable for adults.

I am reading this right now too! It is like nothing I have ever read! Before "Water for Elephants" I read "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris, so I suggest that one.

I read Mennonite in A Little Black Dress in just a few days on a beach in Mexico. I'm from Chicago but grew up in Mennonite country in Indiana so the book was relatable and the beach was heavenly!

So, I was going to say The Time Travelers Wife but saw that you've read that. I think I cried for three days when I finished that one. Loved Water For Elephants...It didn't hurt that I kept picturing Rob Pattinson as Jacob ;). I have both Eat Pray Love and The Hunger Games on my bedside table waiting to be read. I hear the Hunger Games has a cult following like Twilight. It might be a fun read for you!

Everyone I know loved this book. I have started it twice... I would have to start it a third time cause it's been so long... why o why can't I get into it? Makes no sense!!

So many I love...Learning to Breathe, Half Broke Horses, Left to Tell, Even Silence has an End

As a fellow bookworm who called in sick from work so I could finish "The Help" I recommend "Cutting for Stone" about the life of twin boys at a mission hospital in Ethiopia who grow up to become doctors. I fell in love with the characters, loved learning about Addis Ababa, and found the medical stories fascinating. Although I'll warn you, it took a couple chapters to get into it.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers is an amazing book. Couldn't put it down and that is rare for me.

If you loved The Help than you will likely also adore Glass Castle, Sarah's key, and Room (if you haven't already read them).

I loved the Help(can't wait to see who they cast for the movie) and Water For Elephants! It has been a little while since I've been able to swing a good reading spurt, but while I was on that one, I also read Sarah's Key......really intense, and gut wrenching, but so memorable. I'll see if i have it and you can borrow it. Love the photo booth pics. You have the most amazing face!

Sarah's Key--- quick-- so good. So sad... after the Help--- it makes you feel kind of freaked out at what human beings are capable of though...

definitely definitely, if you have read those two books (because I,too, read them in 2.3 days) you will absolutely LOVE:

The Glass Castle
and her newest:
